In the wider world, it’s important to consider the happenings of the 1950s and 1960s, the Cold War being a significant topic. Researchers for the government were gathering information at the pressures that led to the Cold War began. The soviet union launched its sputnik satellite. Arpanet was formed. The success of the arpanet led to the formation of other information sharing networks. I once had a bshell that was correlated to the arpanet museum. It was a limited visual machin essance. Arpanet was the start of sharing digital resources from different geographical locations. Its demonstration in 1969 is what gave birth to the Internet. One of Britain’s first computers was created by Elliot Brother Ltd, more about it can be seen at the Science Museum

Computers were large and cumbersome.e things in that era, they were sparce meaning that users that accessed them had to travel much distances to use them, this problem was overcome by using terminals on a timeshares basis, but that meant that each individual was only using a portion of the mainframes resources. It is what led to a computing network concept like that arpanet became famous for being.
